“Being Lisa” is a romance with a twist. Jason Hartfield and Lisa Figeroa
meet over a business dinner. Sparks fly as their attraction to one another
becomes obvious. When Jason decides to ask Lisa out on a date, Lisa has a
confession...she is transgender. Jason surprised by her admission, decides
to take a chance.
Their first date goes awry when Jason confides in his best friend Alex that
Lisa is "different". Alex turns out to be less than accepting of Jason’s new
romantic interest. When Lisa finds herself alone with Alex, he confronts her
with an interest of his own...sex. After a heated confrontation between Alex
and Lisa, she ditches the party. When Jason becomes aware of what has
happened he has to make the decision, do what is expected and bow to the
pressure from his peers or follow his heart.
Jason decides the later, and catches up to Lisa after giving chase. The
moment becomes tense as Lisa expresses her displeasure that Jason reveled
her gender to Alex. Discouraged by what has transpired, Lisa attempts to
convince Jason that their date will go nowhere from there. Following his
heart, Jason attempts to save the date and preserve any future prospect with
Lisa. Can Jason persuade her, that it’s worth a second chance?
This story, both universal and specific to the transgender experience, will
delight genre aficionados and is also suitable for a crossover audience.

Staring Matt Mitchell as Jason, and Amara Stefani as Lisa.
